When we connect physically\, emotionally\, or spiritually\, we actually receive a chemical reward through the release of dopamine\, endorphins\, and other naturally produced chemicals that bring feelings of safety\, belonging\, and pleasure. We experience higher levels of self-worth\, and with that comes the energy and motivation to engage even more with others. \nHowever\, too many adults find themselves feeling disconnected and estranged from others. Many of the social structures that historically have supported connection and community have been lost or are undergoing radical transformation. Advances in technology that offer new platforms for communication and connection have also resulted in some of us feeling even more disconnected. \nThis one-hour presentation\, designed for adults and children fifteen or older\, will explore strategies for bringing a deeper level of connection into our lives. We will look at how painful experiences and negative beliefs impact our willingness to be open and vulnerable in our relationships. Each participant will have the opportunity to identify some of the negative beliefs that have inhibited them from effectively forming deeper connections with family\, friends\, and other members of their community. \n URL: LOCATION:Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church\, 500 Blake Road S.\, Edina\, MN\, 55343\, United States END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
